Kindle Error E999 Fix Send To Kindle EPUB
Kindle Error E999 is a file sharing error which can appear while sending EPUB to your Kindle ereader or app via email or the app. You may see "Sens to Kindle Internal error". It happens time to time but it is easily fixable with a few steps -
Why Error E999
EPUBs are supported in Kindle but not all EPUBs are formatted in a way Amazon's servers like. Some reasons behind this error -
- Corrupted EPUB formatting
- Missing/incorrect language metadata
- Temporary server issue
How to fix Kindle error E999
1. Convert EPUB to MOBI to EPUB
In this method, you have to convert the file to MOBI, then convert back to EPUB, then send it. You can use Calibre to convert files. This works because the conversion changes the encoding that Amazon's system supports.
2. Fix Language Metadata
Missing language metadata is a common trigger for this error. What you should do is -
- Open Calibre and select your file
- Then right click and select Edit Metadata
- Set Language to ENGLISH or the language you use
- Hit the save and resend the file.
3. Try different format
If it keeps failing, convert your EPUBs to different formats like DOCX, AZW3 etc. then try sending it.
4. Wait and try again later
Sometimes it can be an issue on the Amazon server end, so wait for some time or if you need it on your ereader now then you can transfer from your computer to Kindle via USB. Here's how -
- Open Calibre
- Plug in your Kindle via USB cable
- Use the SEND TO DEVICE to transfer the file directly to the Kindle.
Error E999 is a real nuisance, but easily fixable. Mostly it is the server's issue which usually comes back to normal soon. But you should definitely check out the other methods to make sure it's not some other error. That's it for this quick guide and I'll see you in another one.
