Kindle is Not Charging - Stuck on Battery Icon (Troubleshooting Steps)
If your Kindle device does not charge when plugged in then this guide is for you. these are pretty basic things but checking these are important before you get it to repair or replace.
If your Kindle is stuck on battery dead icon
1st Step
If you see the battery icon on the screen and it's not charging the first thing you should do is check your cable if it's working properly, try it to charge another device if that device charges then the cable is okay, if not then change it. and make sure the charging port is clean if it's dirty clean it with a brush, pin or toothpick but be gentle.
2nd Step
Plug in your charger and press and hold the power button for at least 40 seconds to force restart it after that press it again for 40 seconds till it boots up, When Kindle is charging the LED on power button will turn orange (usually its green), if it doesn't boot up then
3rd Step
Let your Kindle charge for at least 30-60 minutes, then come back and try the force restart again for 40 seconds if it still doesn't show anything the move to next step
4th Step
Try different charging sources like a different outlet, laptop USB port or a power bank if available and let it charge for 1 Hour then try the force restart again.
5th Step
If it still not working, check for damages, check if the charging port is loose that might be the reason or check the battery if its swollen or smelling like chemical (lithium batteries when damaged gives a weird smell)
6th Step
If all fails then you should go to the Amazon service center to get it fixed. They might help in diagnosing the issue. If it's under warranty, maybe you can get a free replacement.
That's it for this guide my friends, share it if it helps. I'll see you in another one.
