What are LSS & USS Scholarships Kerela

LSS (Lower Secondary Scholarship): This scholarship is for Class 4 students. Conducted by the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan.

USS (Upper Secondary Scholarship): For Class 7 students.
The purpose of these schemes is to Support academically good students with school-level financial aid ₹1,000/year for LSS and ₹1,500/year for USS, awarded for up to 3 years.
LSS/USS Scholarship Eligibility & Cut-off Criteria

Eligibility: Students have to be Enrolled in Kerala’s recognized schools in Class 4 or Class 7; good results and attendance; principal/headmaster’s recommendation required.

LSS (max 80): 48 marks

USS (max 90): 63 marks

What to do After Results are declared
A. Checking Results

B. If Qualified

Submit documents (income, school verification, ID) to school before 15 June 2025

School forwards documents to authorities for scholarship release.
C. If You Didn’t Qualify

Option to apply for re-evaluation until 31 May 2025

Scholarship Money Disbursement & Delays
While scholarships are intended to be disbursed annually over up to 3 years, fiscal delays are common. As of Feb 2024, ~₹29.9 cr for 1.3 lakh students remained pending since 2019–20 (thehindu.com). The state addresses disbursement based on fund availability.
