What is the Gyan Sadhana Scholarship?

The Chief Minister Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship is a Gujarati government initiative for meritorious students from Class 9 to 12, especially those from economically weaker backgrounds. Eligible students receive ₹22,000 per year (Classes 9–10) or ₹25,000 per year (Classes 11–12) to support tuition, books, and other educational expenses.

How to Apply Online

  1. Visit the portal (e.g. www.gssyguj.in or look for “Gyan Sadhana Scholarship” on the homepage of sebexam.org) .

  2. Student Registration:

    • Enter your 18-digit U-DISE/Aadhaar CTS UID (provided by your school principal).

    • Fill in personal details, select your school type and district, and upload documents via the portal

    • Required Documents (Simple List)

      1. Aadhaar Card of the student

      2. Passport-size photo (recent)

      3. Income certificate of parents

      4. Class 8 mark sheet (or last passed class)

      5. School bonafide certificate (get it from your school)

      6. Bank passbook copy (student’s or parent's – for money transfer)

      7. Caste certificate (if SC/ST/OBC)

      8. 18-digit Child UID / CTS number (provided by school)


  3. Generate and Submit Application:

    • After entering data and uploading:

      • Click Submit to lock in your application.

      • Print the nominal roll (application form).

      • Get it verified and approved by your school principal, then submit it to the District Education Officer

  4. Download Admit Card:

    • On portal, find “Print Hall Ticket/Admit Card” → enter confirmation number/Aadhaar DOB → download/print

  5. Scholarship exam (MCQ-based)
120 questions: 40 Mental Ability + 80 Scholastic Aptitude

      6. Results & scholarship disbursal

Results released early May; cutoff usually 60 marks for general, 55 for SC  Scholarship amount is then transferred via DBT.
