Deregistering a Kindle eReader means signing out of your Amazon Account from the Kindle device. Once you deregister, your device will no longer be connected to your Amazon account. But now you might wonder "Will I lose everything on my device and my Amazon account?"

Don't worry you can access all your books and files if they are stored on your Amazon account (in the cloud), just log in to your Amazon account from another device and you can access all your files. But if they are not on the cloud you'll lose them, so copy your books and files to another device or your computer via USB cable or upload them to Amazon account (cloud) before deregistering.
