I guess you already know what a hard reset does to a device. If you don't know it will completely wipe out what is stored inside the reMarkable 2.

But Why do a Hard Reset on reMarkable 2?

There are many reasons to do a Hard reset on the remarkable 2 such as -

1. If the remarkable 2 is facing issues like screen freezing, lag, unresponsiveness, a factory reset or hard reset can help in getting rid of these issues.

2. Over time your reMarkable tab can get filled with unnecessary files, cache and background process which slows down the device. And deleting these files one by one can be very time consuming. So a factory reset will do the job for you at once eliminating everything.

⚠️ Before a hard reset, I suggest you to keep a backup of your data or sync your data and progress with your reMarkable account so that after reset you can again log in into your account and have your important data. ⚠️

So, how do you actually hard reset the remarkable 2

Doing a factory reset is not a big deal just follow the steps given below and it's done.

  1. First, Go to 'Menu'
  2. Then 'Settings'
  3. Under Settings tap 'General Settings'
  4. After that, tap on 'Account'
  5. Then select 'Reset' and tap on 'Factory Reset'
  6. Confirm that you want to do it.
