Kobo Clara Colour/HD Frozen Stuck on Sleeping screen - How to fix?

Many Kobo Clara Colour & HD users face the issue of freezing screen. The screen gets stuck on a page of a book or on the home screen. It can be very frustrating when the screen gets stuck, but I have got some solutions you can try on your Kobo Clara device to fix the frozen screen problem.

1. Check if your battery is dead

Kobo e-readers continue to display the content of the screen or the page you were reading even after the device is shut down (due to battery discharge or any other issues). So plug in your charger and charge the device.

2. Hold the power button for 15 seconds

If the screen is still showing the same content even after plugging the charger in one thing you can do is hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Now the device will shut down. Then again turn the device on by pressing the power button.

Your device should be okay now.

Tips to avoid screen freezing or unresponsive on Kobo readers


1. Keep your device properly charged (charge for at least 1 Hour)
2. Use a high-quality USB cable for charging better than using an official Kobo USB cable
3. Keep your software updated
