Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 17 lineup at its September 2025 keynote, introducing not just performance boosts but also a brand new model, the iPhone Air, its thinnest iPhone yet which replaced the previous plus model in the series.

All four models - iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max - finally come with 120Hz ProMotion displays, USB-C charging, and the new 18MP Center Stage front camera.

  • Display: 6.9″ LTPO Super Retina XDR, 120Hz,  highest brightness and largest battery in the lineup.

  • SoC: A19 Pro.

  • Internals: 256GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 12GB RAM, 1TB 12GB RAM, 2TB 12GB RAM

  • Cameras: 48MP Pro Fusion system plus a periscope telephoto (Apple lists up to 8× optical-quality zoom on Pro models), advanced video features and largest battery (Apple calls it the longest battery life on an iPhone).

  • India price (256GB): ₹1,49,900 (higher for larger storage tiers).

Availability in India

Should You Upgrade?

The iPhone 17 series isn’t just a typical annual refresh, it’s a good upgrade this unlike the 16 series. Base model has 120hz display that's the highlight in a practical way although performance of apple was always better than Android but that too is better with A19.

The iPhone 17 is perfect for those who want performance and fluidity without Pro pricing. The iPhone Air offers a thin form factor that doesn’t sacrifice modern capabilities. For power users and content creators, the Pro and Pro Max deliver top-of-the-line hardware, cameras, and cooling.

You don't need the upgrade if you have a pro model but if you have non pro it's worth the upgrade even the base iPhone 17.
